Microwave Apple Jelly Recipe

For a great combination of baking apple; use Granny Smith, Braeburn, Jonagold, Empire, Regent, Spartan, Newtown apples or a mixture of your favorite apples together.

Microwave Apple Jelly Directions


Power level: high
Total apple jelly cooking time: 15 to 19 minutes
4 1/2 cups apple juice
1 - 1 3/4 ounce package fruit pectin
3 1/3 cup sugar

Combine apple juice and pectin in a 3-quart bowl. Cover loosely with plastic wrap. Microwave on high for 5 to 6 minutes or until mixture comes to a full boil. Stir occasionally during cooking. Stir in sugar until dissolved. Microwave on high for 8 to 10 minutes longer or until mixture again comes to a full boil again. Stirring occasionally during the cooking. Uncover apple jelly. Microwave on high for an additional 2 to 3 minutes or until apple jelly sheets from a spoon. Skim off any foam. Pour into hot sterilized jars. Seal jars. Yield: 5 - 8 ounce jars.
