Easy Apple Jelly Recipe

For a great combination of baking apple; use Granny Smith, Braeburn, Jonagold, Empire, Regent, Spartan, Newtown apples or a mixture of your favorite apples together.

Easy Apple Jelly Cooking Directions

Makes about 4 - 8 ounce glasses.

7 pounds fully ripe apples, firm, tart apples
3 cups water
2 tablespoon lemon juice
3 cups sugar

Wash apples thoroughly, remove stems from apples. Do not peel or core. Cut apples into small pieces and place in a large soup kettle. Add water, cover, bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat and simmer apples until soft, about 20 minutes. Extract juice.

Measure 4 cups of apple juice into kettle. Add lemon juice, sugar and stir thoroughly. Bring apple juice to a boil then boil over high heat until gel stage is reached. Remove from heat and skim off foam. Pour hot jelly into hot sterilized jelly glasses and seal immediately.
