Caramel Apple Sundae Pie Recipe

For a great combination of baking apple; use Granny Smith, Braeburn, Jonagold, Empire, Regent, Spartan, Newtown apples or a mixture of your favorite apples together.

Pan size: 9 inch pie plate
Freeze time: 4 hours
Servings: 8

Caramel Apple Sundae Pie Directions

3/4 cup caramel ice cream topping divided
1 - NILLA Crumb Crust
1 quart vanilla ice cream, softened { about 4 cups }
2 medium apples, peeled, cored and coarsely chopped
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons firmly packed light brown sugar

Make the Nilla Crumb Crust as directed. Drizzle 1/2 cup of the caramel topping evenly onto bottom of prepared crust. Top with scoops of ice cream. Freeze 4 hours or until ready to serve.

Cook apples in butter and sugar in large skillet on medium heat 5 min. or until apples are tender, stirring frequently. Cool.

Remove Caramel Apple Pie out of the freezer for 5 or 6 minutes before ready to serve for easy cutting. Spoon apples over each slice and drizzle with remaining 1/4 caramel topping. Cover and store Caramel Apple Pie leftover pie in freezer.

Helpful Kitchens Hints
Change it up with a crunchy wafer topping.
Ccoarsely crush 6 NILLA Wafers; sprinkle over Caramel Apple Pie just before serving.
