Apple Waldorf Salad Recipe

Baking Directions

For a great combination of baking apple; use Granny Smith, Braeburn, Jonagold, Empire, Regent, Spartan, Newtown apples or a mixture of your favorite apples together.

Pan size: large Serving Bowl
Temp: Chilled in refrigerator
Chilling time: 2 hours before serving
Servings: 6 to 8 - easily doubled for a crowd

Apple Waldorf Salad Recipe


3 medium granny smith apples, sliced, cored, cut into bite size pieces
3 medium Braeburn apples, sliced, cored, and cut into bite size pieces
6 cups broccoli flowerets { that is the tops of the broccoli }
1 small red onion, sliced thinly
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
1/2 cup craisins
1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice


In a small mixing bowl, combine red onion, walnuts, craisins, sugar and mayonnaise. Set aside in the refrigerator. To save time you can make the mayonnaise mixture the night before, omitting the onions and walnuts.

In a large bowl, combine apples and lemon juice. Stir until apples are well coated with lemon juice, add apples and lemon juice to mayonnaise mixture. Refrigerate for 1 hour to blend flavors. Stir in broccoli. Serves 6 to 8. Easily doubled.
